Buckland Web Design was officially started in 2005 by me, Mike Buckland. I have been designing and maintaining web sites since 1999. From 1999 until 2005 I worked for Ohio Legislative Information Systems(LIS). While at LIS I had the opportunity to work on some very important and informative sites. The biggest site that I have ever worked on is the Ohio General Assembly site which averages over 300,000 hits per month. All of the state agency sites that I have built or maintained are listed in my portfolio.
I have developed sites using Macromedia ColdFusion, PHP and HTML. ColdFusion and PHP are web languages that allow a site to interact with database tables to generate content dynamically on a page. The ability to display information from a database makes updating web site content very simple because none of the code needs to be touched. Updates to data in a database are instantly visible on the site.
